ROAR

ROAR is a fun and interactive lesson about body safety, targeted toward Pre-K and kindergarten age children. With the help of a lion named Rex, we teach children that our bodies are private, how to say no to unwanted touch, and how to use our voice to speak up when abuse does occur, using the Rules of ROARing:

  • R: Remember, privates are private
  • O: Okay to say no
  • A: Always talk about secrets
  • R: Raise your voice and tell someone

In the presentation, ROAR facilitations only use the words “private parts;” no other words or specific language is used. Through the ROAR program, it is our hope that teaching age-appropriate prevention will help our students feel powerful, prepared, and protected.

The statistics for the state of Kentucky show that 1 in 9 children will be sexually abused by their 18th birthday. Please join our efforts to ensure that our children in the Barren River Region know how to protect themselves.
