Since 1999, bikers from all across South Central Kentucky have been showing up to take a stand against child abuse in our community. Riders have been showing up with blue ribbons and teddy bears for children who have endured unthinkable child abuse. Usually, each Spring, motorcyclists are escorted through the busy streets of Bowling Green from the Warren County Justice Center to Harley-Davidson of Bowling Green. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic altered the plans for the 2020 Great Teddy Bear Run. Even during a pandemic, and especially when children are in isolation, children are at risk of child abuse. The Great Teddy Bear Run will take place with individual and group rides throughout our community on October 10th-17th. The week will culminate with spaced out Teddy Bear drop off, T-shirt pickup, and silent auction at Harley-Davidson Bowling Green on October 17th. Join us! The kids need us now more than ever.
Participants who registered prior to August have a valid registration and do not have to register again. Early registrants will receive event T-shirt and event gaiter at no additional cost. An email was sent out detailing how to sign up for your preferred time slot. Feel free to call (270) 783-4357 with any questions. If you plan to participate in our altered Great Teddy Bear Run, please register at https://give.classy.org/GTBR2020. Once you are registered, you will receive an email with instructions on how to sign up for a time to end your ride at Harley-Davidson Bowling Green on October 17th. You may drop off your teddy bear, pick up your event merchandise, and check out the silent auction during your time slot. We will follow state and local guidelines regarding social distancing and face coverings in order to keep everyone safe during the current pandemic. Thank you for supporting the Barren River Area Child Advocacy Center.
