April 25th, 2020 was supposed to be our 21st anniversary Great Teddy Bear Run. Proceeds from this annual fundraising event help us serve children who have become victims of abuse. Like many other events, the Great Teddy Bear Run had to be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. So instead, this event became VIRTUAL now, RIDE later.
Motorcyclists, bicyclists, tricyclists, unicyclists, and even car riders took a ride during the weekend of April 25th, 2020 to make a difference for kids. Our goals were simple:
(1) Raise awareness about the problems of child abuse. 1 in 10 children will be sexually abused before their 18th birthday. We want to encourage families to do what they can to protect children and #BetheEnd.
(2) Raise funds for us to be able to serve the children in our 10 county area affected by this terrible crime. This“virtual” event gave our community the opportunity to donate to our great work AND get active outside with their families.
Teddy bears were attached to bikes as a symbol of the reason for the ride. This event was a huge success, and we are hoping for our biggest turnout ever at the postponed Great Teddy Bear Run this fall. Keep checking our website for more information.
